We are on our way!!

We left Enfield, CT around 10am on July 13th. The van was packed, kids buckled, Miss Ernestine with us, mail stopped and our kitties taken care of. This was the beginning of a very exciting trip that would include the states CT, NY, NJ, PA, VA, WV, OH, IN, KY, TN and AL. (For Ernestine it also included VT and MA!) We all could hardly believe we were finally on our way!!

As you can see we were able to get car dvd players so the kids could watch movies in the car as this trip in total, minus stops, would take 18hrs. After talking to my "brother" William, (you had to know I would put you in here! LOL) I decided I would do a blog with lots of pictures. He wanted to feel like he was on the trip with us. The only thing is he can't hear how loud my kids can get!!

Finally we are entering a new state!!! New York!!!

Our Final state for the first day, Pennsylvania!!

In case you were not aware, Pennsylvania is a very very VERY wide state to travel through!!! Here are some of the sites we saw along the way to our stop for the first day of driving.

We also discovered that people in PA didn't like to go around or over mountains, they go through them!!! We had many "Time Tunnels".  The PBS show Dinosaur Train conductor always calls out "Time Tunnel, Time Tunnel Approaching" as they enter a different ancient time period so being the navigator I would call out "Time Tunnel, Time Tunnel Approaching" as we would come to one of these mountain tunnels!!
